None of the characters are meant to be seen as real people.
They represent archetypes in my imagination. They are 2D because I want
people to think about the ideas behind the story rather than the characters.
Tracy
represents my child-like naive side. She doesn't always know what to
do and sometimes she makes mistakes. She is willing to try hard as long
as she knows what she is supposed to do.
Tristan
represents real world cynicism. He's not evil, just not necessarily
good. He represents well-meaning non- Christians that just don't understand. You might notice that he is a real cat. He is based on a cat I had that
died this summer. He survived my divorce, 6 moves, my sucicide attempt,
poverty, and an unplanned pregnacy. I miss him.
Doug
represents the Holy Spirit / Guardian Angel. He is always available
for advice and sometimes even gives a nudge in the right direction.
Israel
and Judah: They represent the countries they are named for.
While reading Kings and Chronicles, I was struck by how many times
the countries "messed up" and how many times God forgave
them.
Incidentally, I and J are wearing clothes from my son's closet. They are supposed to be about ten. However, I still don't have the nack to drawing children consistantly so they range from teenagers to 5 yo's.
